The second tabletop happening of 5×7 UNDERGROUND occurred on Friday, June 30th, 2017 from 5-7 p.m.  “Freedom” was the second theme and was chosen by co-organizer, Jeff Sharp.  Coincidentally, the happening fell on the fourth of July weekend, perhaps adding a greater significance to the theme?

5×7 UNDERGROUND met at Market Tavern in Sykesville, Maryland.  This was our first visit to the new Market Tavern, and we set up at the couch and natural wood slab table near the front window.  Artists in attendance included: Jeff Sharp, Mary Beth Francis, Jim Roberts, and Lauren Latané-Valis.

After each artist presented their work in rotation, the work was displayed for a gallery photograph.  Each work was also photographed individually and are displayed in separate post in the image isolation gallery.  In addition to her “freedom” interpretative piece, Mary Beth Francis presented samples from her Difursity poster series.  We hope you enjoy the works and will visit us again.

The image below depicts 5×7 UNDERGROUND interpretations of the theme, “freedom”.
