The sixth tabletop happening of 5×7 UNDERGROUND occurred on Friday, April 19th, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. “Vision” was the sixth theme and chosen by member, Mary Beth Francis, who also added an additional stipulation of including physical movement in the piece.
5×7 UNDERGROUND met at Maggie’s in Westminster, Maryland. The front bar proved far too loud for any casual conversation, so 5×7 UNDERGROUND took up residence at a quiet table in the back. Artists in attendance included: Jeff Sharp, Mary Beth Francis, Jim Roberts, and Lauren Latané-Valis
Prior to the artwork presentation, members discussed how to involve other artists in the happenings. It was decided that increasing the group past its current size might make the bi-monthly happenings rather difficult to complete within a two-hour time frame. Therefore, we determined that inviting artists to create a work based on past themes online might be the way to go.
Starting with this theme, we are inviting any and all interested artists to create a work, 5×7″ or smaller, that interprets the theme, “vision” with an optional stipulation of including physical movement into the piece. Please post your interpretation on the 5×7 UNDERGROUND Facebook page.
After each artist presented their work in rotation, the work was displayed for a gallery photograph. Each work was also photographed individually and are displayed in separate post in the image isolation gallery. Jeff Sharp and Lauren Latané-Valis presented an additional works for this theme. We hope you enjoy the art and will visit us again. Feel free to leave some comments below and visit our Facebook page.
