The seventh tabletop happening of 5×7 UNDERGROUND occurred on Thursday, July 28th, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. “Self” was the seventh theme and chosen by member, Jeff Sharp, who also added an additional stipulation that this piece would eventually serve as a profile picture for each member for the 5×7 UNDERGROUND website.
5×7 UNDERGROUND met at Market Tavern once again in Sykesville, Maryland. As a Sykesville/Eldersburg native, I still can’t believe that there is actually a cool bar in Sykesville, and Market Tavern did not disappoint…especially since it was a special beer pancake/beer tasting night. Tasty indeed. Artists in attendance included: Jeff Sharp, Mary Beth Francis, Jim Roberts, and Lauren Latané-Valis.
Each artist present their interpretation of self, beginning with Jeff Sharp. The group also acknowledged Jeff’s inclusion and sale of a piece at the Carroll County Arts Council Member’s show, and Jim Robert’s successful participation and sales in the “Engage with Arts” show in Chester County, PA. More individual shows for Jim Roberts are on the horizon so stay tuned as we’ll be sure to announce them here.
After each artist presented their work in rotation, the work was displayed for a gallery photograph. Each work was also photographed individually and are displayed in separate post in the image isolation gallery. We hope you enjoy the art and will visit us again. Feel free to leave some comments below and visit and/or join our Facebook group as we invite all interested artists to create an interpretation of the theme, “self” (5″x7″ or smaller please) and post it to our Facebook group page.
