The eighth tabletop happening of 5×7 UNDERGROUND occurred on Friday, August 31st, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. This time, artwork themes were different for each member. Jim Roberts wrote a series of possible themes and challenges onto strips of paper. Themes and challenges were then randomly chosen by members at the prior meet up in June.
5×7 UNDERGROUND returned to Johannson’s Dining House in Westminster, MD. Artists in attendance included: Jeff Sharp, Mary Beth Francis, Jim Roberts, and Lauren Latané-Valis. Johannson’s is always a great spot for a popup gallery, especially if you get the window seats! Which we did. 🙂
Each artist revealed their themes and challenges and presented their interpretations, beginning with Jim Roberts.
After each artist presented their work in rotation, the work was displayed for a gallery photograph. Each work was also photographed individually and are displayed in separate post in the image isolation gallery. We hope you enjoy the art and will visit us again.
Feel free to leave some comments below and visit and/or join our Facebook group as we invite all interested artists to create an interpretation of the next theme, “memory” (5″x7″ or smaller please) and post it to our Facebook group page. 5×7 UNDERGROUND will then post their artworks after the next happening on October 26th. We are trying to grow our online community and encouraged dedicated artists everywhere to participate!
