The first tabletop happening of 5×7 UNDERGROUND occurred on Friday, April 28th, 2017 from 5-7 p.m.  This day was specifically chosen, as it was the Friday before May Day or International Worker’s Day.  “Human” was the first theme and was chosen by co-organizer, Mary Beth Francis.  5×7 UNDERGROUND met at Johanssons Dining House in Westminster, Maryland, where the idea for the tabletop happenings was first conceived by Jeff Sharp and Mary Beth Francis.  Artists in attendance included: Jeff Sharp, Mary Beth Francis, Jim Roberts, Josh Remmel, Peter Towson, and Lauren Latané-Valis.

After each artist presented their work in rotation (some going twice), the work was displayed for a gallery photograph.  Each work was also photographed individually and are displayed in the image isolation gallery.  We hope you enjoy the works and will visit us again.

The image below depicts 5×7 UNDERGROUND interpretations of the theme, “human“.
